Technical Assistance for the Louvre museum

© schlaich bergermann partner

A total of 77 showcases have been planned and installed in the Etruscan rooms of the Louvre (Salle des bronzes, Salle des 7 cheminées, Salle Henri II).
Together with the museum staff, the project framework was defined in the preliminary design phase by analyzing the planned technical solutions, such as the type of glass, the type and treatment of the framing and the opening system. Issues such as delivery, on-site installation and the fine-tuning of the technical elements of the showcases were also coordinated.
sbp provided technical support with the tender documents and the selection of manufacturers, analyzing the proposed solutions and alternatives. The next step was to review the plans to be produced by the companies in the execution phase. This made it possible to identify planned elements that had to be changed in the prototype production phase providing the basis for the final analysis of the execution drawings prior to production.
