This week was the big day: the new ‘concap’ slab system was presented to the public!
concap is based on an idea from Mike Schlaich and was developed by schlaich bergermann partner in collaboration with Eckhardt Thomas and thomas gruppe. The product has already generated a lot of interest from leading architects and construction companies.
concap is inspired by a traditional vaulted slab system and was developed as a as a sustainable and flexible product. At the launch event, the significant reduction in CO2 emissions due to the material-saving design was emphasized.
Compared to conventional flat slabs, concap saves an average of 55 percent in structural concrete. Its curved vaults have the added advantage of making every room feel more spacious. concap comes in various module sizes and widths, making it suitable for a wide range of building typologies. Furthermore, concap’s innovative design sets new standards in terms of elegance, resource conservation, technology integration and construction logistics.
Participants of the Launch Event had the opportunity to experience concap first-hand in the showroom and see the impact of the product on future architectural projects.
