Inauguration of the Francs-Moisins footbridge

Last weekend, the Francs-Moisins pedestrian bridge in Saint-Denis was inaugurated with a festive ceremony.

After more than two and a half years, the completion of this project marks the beginning of a new life for the former movable bridge, which has been repurposed and transformed into a new pedestrian and bicycle bridge over the Saint-Denis canal. It was designed by sbp in collaboration with Explorations Architecture and August.

The reuse of the metal deck on-site not only meets environmental requirements, but also creates a spacious deck area above the water, where a timber installation with seating and leisure equipment will be built starting in fall 2024.

We would like to thank the client Plaine Commune for the confidence they have shown, as well as the teams from Razel-Bec and Eiffage Métal who were able to realize this ambitious and unique project within a short timeframe.
